It was written in PortAlfred and Cape Town and matured in Berlin and has evolved into acompanion, a pulsating vessel of grief, vitality, and reclamation. The albummeditates on learning to live with damage while regaining autonomy overhow Black life is archived: a dialogue between the artist, her ancestors,voices like Miriam Makeba, Busi Mhlongo, Princess Magogo, Madosini, andthe psychoacoustics of South Africa's lore as a timeless technology. Itbrings these elders into a conversation with Dumama's global orientationand experimental sensibilities.
