The Blues Band - Boom Boom 1980 is a major 4-CD box set released by Repertoire Records to celebrate the band's 45th anniversary. The collection chronicles the early years of The Blues Band, the British blues-rock group formed in 1979 by Paul Jones, Tom McGuinness, Dave Kelly, Gary Fletcher, and Hughie Flint. Booklet featuring liner notes by Chris Welch and rare photographs. When The Blues Band emerged in 1979, they helped spark a worldwide revival of interest in traditional blues. Boom Boom 1980 is the definitive celebration of those formative years, bringing together classic studio recordings and a wealth of previously unheard live material. Featuring 75 tracks across four CDs, including 55 unreleased performances, this lavish anniversary collection captures the energy, musicianship, and passion that made The Blues Band one of Britain's most respected blues acts.
